What Steps Should Students Take When Writing Papers with Computers?
Due to technological advancements, many papers are being conducted online now. It is important that you teach young children how to type papers on the computer from an early age. Here are the few steps that the students can take while writing papers on a computer:
Use Microsoft Word
For the purpose of writing your paper on a computer, you will need typing software. This type of software is often referred to as word processing software. Word processors make digital writing quick and efficient. Microsoft Word is the leading word processor in the world. It is widely used for typing research papers, articles, and blogs. It is one of the most convenient typing software that has plenty of efficient features. You can use Microsoft Word by turning your PC on. After that, you can double click on the Microsoft word icon on your desktop. If not found on the desktop, you can also search for it in the start menu.
In-text Citations
Whenever you are writing a paper, you will have to include certain references for authenticity. It gives a good impression. However, you will have to provide a citation for each quote that you use. Otherwise, your paper can turn out to be plagiarized. You will have to add the author name and the date right after the quotation. Many types of word processors offer the feature of adding in-text citations. MS Word offers many different options for citation methods.
Typing Problems
When you are writing manually on the paper, your word does not disappear. However, on the computer, you can encounter certain typing problems that could make you panic. You might press a button accidentally that deletes all your work. These situations can be tackled by pressing "ctrl + z". It is the shortcut for undo. All your typed words would come back without any changes and you can continue to write more.
