How to Write Collaborative Papers?
Collaborative writing is a method of combining the work of different authors on a single topic. It includes a team of individuals working together to produce a single academic paper. Here are the steps involved in collaborative writing.
Pre-Writing Process
Before actually compiling a document, there comes a pre-writing process. In this process, two people sit together and discuss all the ideas. They brainstorm an idea. They think about the topics and content. They both discuss their thoughts and proposals with each other. They both should agree on a single proposal to move forward. The pre-writing process also involves the formulation of a rough draft. This would decide how the final collaborative paper would look like.
Planning
The next step is to plan everything. During this phase of writing, both the partners will decide on what parts will be written by whom. They both will assign different tasks to each other. This step also consists of scheduling meetings to work on the project further.
Data Collection
This step is all about collecting the data from authentic sources for the collaborative paper. During this process, the team will decide on what data collection techniques they would adopt. From where they will get their data (for example, books, journals, internet, articles, etc.) They will also take the necessary measures for conducting the research.
Writing
After all these preliminary steps, comes the main step of actually writing the papers. Each individual of the team will write their assigned part. Each member will be given a specific area of interest where they will be working. Together the entire team will decide on the structure of the paper that will be followed by everyone.
Editing
The editing and revising of the paper is necessary because every person has his own style of writing. It is important that the sentences match with each other. They should look cohesive. Proofreading will also eliminate errors from your paper.
