Reading frequently vastly expands our vocabulary. The more you read, the more you will come across words that are unfamiliar. By taking the time to understand the meaning of these words, we grow infinitely. When you come across these words you can use the context of the word within the sentence to better understand it or, you can go old school, you can use a dictionary. Students are fast learners as they instantly grab new words from literally anywhere including their adults, boards, books, grocery stores, post offices, and way to school and so on. Vocabulary works as a roadway which leads to help them while reading and learning. To be a successful student in your class you need to have a robust vocabulary. The vocabulary means the words that you remember in your mind and use them on a daily basis.


However, the question here arises is how would you be able to understand new words? These surefire ways help to understand new words in your daily vocabulary. Let's begin with:


Surefire Ways to Understand New Words:


Word Exposure: A child is exposed to 4-12 new words a day. It is essential to repeat those words repeatedly in your conversation to add them in your children's vocabulary. Expose the words by finding their relation to other objects or subjects. Find examples related to them to understand the word easily.

Tuck in your shirt.


Visualize Words: As you learn any new word and get to know its meaning from your teacher or adults, it is the right time to start visualizing or connecting them with any picture, person, thing or place. It will help to give meaning to the words.

See It, Say It, Write It: When you come to know a new word. Learn how it looks, it's pronunciation and writing. Look forward to your elders, teachers and google translators to understand word meaning, usage and pronunciation. Once you learn it, write a story and use the word frequently.

Look in the dictionary: A dictionary can be your best friend to expand your vocabulary. Once you come by new words, look for its meaning in a dictionary. Note down its synonyms, antonyms, and meanings on flash cards and practice daily.
