Many times we will come across words that we just don't know how to spell. We also may not be sure if our spelling is correct. The world is filled with spell checkers, but many job interviews are set up these days to require a handwritten body of work. Many employers will often have potential candidates complete a hand written essay simply to gauge their ability to spell words and get a feeling for their penmanship. These worksheets will walk students through steps to make certain that they know how to check their own spelling of words.

How to Confirm the Spelling of Words?


Writing the correct spelling at an initial level can be difficult for elementary school students. It can be difficult to learn all the spelling rules and exceptions in the beginning and students may spell words incorrectly. Whereas, learning a correctly spelled word is the fundamental skill and necessary part of ESL. Therefore, here are some tricks to help you out with the correct spelling confirmation.


The Word Stair


Encourage students to spell the familiar or unfamiliar words with the fun and amusing alphabet stair game. Ask them to spell the word alphabetically in stair form by adding each letter one by one.

To confirm you have written the correct word spelling start utilizing your school's resources.

For Example:

Mostly school walls have huge vocabulary sheets and charts for students to learn words on the go. You can learn and confirm the spelling from there.


Also, posters, charts, diagrams, pictures, banners, pamphlets, and all print material have loads of words displayed in your classroom or home. You can confirm spelling from such sources as well.


Teacher's Word list:


The teacher often creates a list of most frequently used words or dictation list. These lists can be created as per different subject's requirements and are very helpful for students to learn from. You can confirm spelling from your teacher's word list.
