Something that is not done enough by most millennials is evaluating why something they are reading was written. Understanding why an author created anything can help you uncover any hidden agendas. Was the piece written to inform you about something? Was the author attempting to amuse her readers? Was the piece written to sway your opinion on a product, event, or political candidate? These worksheets will help students begin to unearth the intended purpose an author had before they wrote a body of work.
