Tips for Grade 7 Spellers
Seventh grade prepares a student for middle school as well as high school. Therefore, the knowledge gained during this year of academic life is highly significant. Seventh graders must have excellent writing and speaking skills. During their seventh grade, students are taught many new terms but they encounter a little difficulty in spelling these words correctly. Some tips that will help many seventh graders to learn spellings of easier as well as complex words easily are given below:
Divide Them into Parts
If a word is long and hard to spell, you can divide that word into two to three smaller parts and then try to spell each part separately. At the end, you can combine the spellings of each part to spell the whole word. For example, word personification is little difficult for seventh graders but by dividing it into parts i.e., per-son-ifi-cation it can become easy to spell. Thus, dividing terms into parts is a helpful tip for seventh-grade spellers.
Learn a Few Each Day
To improve your vocabulary and spelling skills, it is advised to learn few words daily along with their pronunciation, spellings, and meanings. Try to use these new vocabulary terms in your daily life. Also remember not to learn more than ten words per day as it can confuse you.
Focus on What You Misspell
Go through your previous assignments or other written content, highlight the words you often misspell and make a list of them. Revise these terms again and again until you have achieved a full grip on their spellings.
Play Spelling Games
As seventh graders are fond of games, parents and teachers should try to teach them new words and their spellings with the help of word games. Playing scrabble and other online spelling games with friends will not only help them to learn new words easily but also to enjoy learning.
