When students are learning the alphabet the first step they take is to make sure that they can identify the upper and lower case letters. This is typical done through the use of flashcards and the ABC song. They project forward by learning the letters in various print styles. The final step is to understand and being able to pronounce each sound each of the twenty-six letters make. Students should start with the most commonly (L, N, R, T, and S) used constants and end with the infrequently used constants (Q, X, Y, and Z).
Letter Sound Worksheets To Print:
A, E, I, O, U Word Sort – Put the words into sound columns.
Beginning Sounds A or E or I – What is the sound in the front of the word that you hear?
M and N Word Sort – Which words begin with M or N.
Beginning, Middle, Ends – Where do these words fit into the picture?
Ending Sounds – Just name the word endings here for us.
Beginning Sounds – Aren't there a ton of cat and dog pictures in this section?
Beginning Sounds M or N – Circle the correct beginning sound.
Ending Sounds – Circle the correct ending sound under the picture.
Ending Sounds 2 – What does it end in?
Middle Sounds – Write the letter for the middle sound you hear under the picture.
In The Middle – Write the letter for the middle sound you hear under the picture.
sh- and ch- Digraphs – Circle the correct digraph under the picture.
Digraphs sh and ch Word Sort – Look at the words in the box. Sort the words that begin or end with digraphs ch and sh.
Begin and End It – Name the pictures please.
