Recognizing Signs and Symbols
Reading and writing are very important to teach children. However, signs and symbols are equally important. There are many places where signs and symbols are used instead of writings. Children must be able to understand these signs and symbols for their own benefits. Here are some signs and symbols that should be taught to the children at a young age.
Basic Signs
There are some symbols and signs that are very basic and apply to roads and traffic. These signs and symbols let the passengers know how to behave to ensure safety. As teaching, you can get these signs printed and assign each print to each child in the class so that the children can observe these signs from a close distance. It is essential that you do not get the complex signs printed that are not even being used that regularly. Some signs that you should teach them early are the signs of stopping, no bikes, one way, railroad crossing, no turn, do not enter, and no parking. Teach the children about the meanings of the signs.
Traffic Lights
It is important to teach traffic light to children. You can print a piece of the traffic light or draw the traffic lights on the board with the colors. After that, teach the children about the concept of traffic lights. Tell them that there are three traffic lights that have different meanings. Tell them the purpose of the colors red, yellow, and green traffic lights.
Bathroom Signs
You should teach the children to recognize bathroom signs at a young age. Tell them that in most public places there are different bathrooms for genders. Show them the signs that are used for both the bathrooms.
